Estancia Arroyo Verde

Estancia Arroyo Verde should be declared a national treasure. Located 1.5 hours from the San Carlos de Bariloche airport, you are welcomed into Meme LaRiviere's large, elegant home and treated like royalty. Meme is a gracious hostess and has authored several books on the grand estancias of Argentina. The setting is spectacular with the picturesque remnants of weathered volcanic spires in an ancient mountain chain and the azure-hued waters of the Rio Traful flowing nearby. Giant rainbows and browns need to be stalked with great care using nymphs or dry flies. In addition, there are runs of landlocked salmon in March; what fun it is to hook one of these hard-fighting fish. Estancia Arroyo Verde is ideal for those who appreciate understated sophistication in a relaxed, low-pressure to fish environment. You can fish when you want to or just enjoy the ranch and its spectacular setting. The four-season resort town of Bariloche is not far away for those who want some shopping or to play a round of golf at the new Arelauquen 18-hole course just an hour away.
