El Encuentro Lodge
El Encuentro Lodge is off the beaten path near Esquel at the southern end of the Lake District, an hour's drive from the Esquel airport. Owners and hosts Michael and Jane Beale provide guests with warm hospitality, comfort, delicious food and superb fishing. Meals are served on a veranda overlooking the Rio Grande with the backdrop of granite spires of the Andes Mountains thrusting abruptly from the earth; the view is nothing short of spectacular. Michael and his guides take guests to several well-known and productive rivers (Rio Grande, Chubut, and Rividavia). In addition you will have the opportunity to wade the famous Arroyo Pescado spring creek where large browns and rainbows cruise in shallow, crystal-clear water. Fishing is a combination of floating and wading in easy currents. The lodge is ideal for 2-3 fishing couples who enjoy the privacy of a small lodge. The El Encuentro Lodge combines well with the Rio Manso Lodge and the Martin Pescador Lodge (in Chile).
