Estancia San Huberto

Estancia San Huberto is probably the best known lodge in Patagonia. Since the late 1970s the Olsen family has been host to dedicated anglers. Joe Brooks, legendary sportswriter "discovered" Patagonia trout fishing in the 1960s. His stories of fly fishing on the Rio Malleo have kindled fires in the souls of countless anglers. Forty years later the legend of the Malleo lives on as a classic trout river where dry fly and nymph fishing is at its best. A 1.5-hour drive from the San Martin/Chapelco airport puts you at the lodge. Spacious, remodeled rooms provide at-home comfort while hosts Carmen and son Ronnie Olsen cheerfully look after your every need. With an excellent guide at your elbow, the 20 miles of private water will provide plenty of opportunities for hooking into good-size browns and rainbows. Best suited for serious anglers, San Huberto is unrivaled for classic trout fishing while wading one of Patagonia's most famous trout rivers.
