The Fjords Program

The Fjords Program features all the comforts of home on board the 53' cabin cruiser, Rio Azul, with two double staterooms each with private bathroom facilities. Long, sheltered fjords are formed as the Andes literally plunge into the sea; there is no coastal plane for roads. Snowmelt water from high in the mountains is a constant source to innumerable streams and rivers accessible only by boat. Here, brown and rainbow trout plus ranched salmon escapees, unmolested for generations, thrive and grow very large. The combination of isolation and abundant food in the tidal estuaries make this an unbelievable fishery. Each day anglers go ashore in Zodiac-type inflatable boats with their guides to cast streamers in pools where few others have been. The fish are usually eager takers. During lunch or in the evening the Rio Azul is moved to another river. When not ashore, fishing guests can relax in the salon or the upper deck to enjoy the majestic scenery and the abundant marine life; porpoise, penguins and sea lions are frequently spotted as well as a host of aquatic birds and the occasional whale. The on-board staff is attentive and the chef serves up raved-about meals. Ideally suited for angling couples or 4 good fiends; this is one of the most remarkable fishing experiences available in South America. Cristian Dufflocq and the professional crew have 10 years of experience in this remote part of the world winning rave reviews and having an impeccable safety record.
