New Discoveries & Discounts

Finding new destinations is one of the motivating forces behind our adventures in Patagonia. From time to time we find places that are in the process of getting established in the market. Similar to producing fine wines and good food, great imagination, enormous effort and plenty of money are required to launch a new lodge. Those components take care of the launching, but then good marketing and several seasons of operation are required to build a strong reputation for a quality experience. If all goes well, the destination will be "discovered" first by adventurous sportsmen. We believe we have found a new destination worth of your consideration.

Entre Aguas Lodge

Created by the same team that started Patagonia Baker Lodge ten years ago, Rodrigo Chicharro Sáenz, Maria Luisa Vargas Sommer and Francisco Miranda Reinares, have built a handsome new lodge in a pristine part of southern Chile. This 6-guest lodge, located an hour's drive south of Cochrane, on the dry side of the Andes, features the opportunity to fish the most isolated trout water in Patagonia. Huge resident rainbows and browns can be taken on dry flies, nymphs or streamers from several rivers and the reed beds of Lago Vargas. But, the local Vargas and Jaramillo rivers have runs of Chinook and Silver salmon as well as sea-run browns and steelhead trout... shhhh don't let the secret out! Yes, large runs of salmon and sea-run trout are well established. Be one of the first North Americans to explore this fishery. We are going down in December to find out for ourselves if all that we are told is true... knowing Rodrigo and Francisco well, there is no doubt they have found the next greatest thing in Chile.

Some of the best fishing of the season is available in Patagonia when most Americans are thinking about Thanksgiving turkey or holiday shopping. Escape the frenetic pace; come down to the tranquility of late spring in Patagonia. Trout have not seen a fly since the previous March or April and are eager feeders after a long winter. Similarly, April the same as October in the Northern Hemisphere, is a time when the water levels are low and the brown trout are feeding up in anticipation of fall spawning and the long winter ahead.
